As an animator, you must create living, breathing characters that tell a story, share an experience, and move an audience.
In other words, you are an actor. Learning the craft of acting is essential to creating more compelling characters and actions, bur traditional acting classes aren’t designed for you and offer too little usable information. The Dynamic Animator Workshop changes all of that. It offers an actor’s perspective that you can directly use in your work. You will learn expert acting techniques that you can immediately begin to apply to your animation. This workshop: • Explores advanced physical acting techniques, such as Laban Movement Analysis and Chekhov's Psychological Gesture, that are directly usable in animation. • Provides an understanding of the fundamental process an actor uses to create and play a character. • Provide a vocabulary and a toolbox that animators can use when studying or creating reference materials. The workshop is a combination of lecture/discussion, acting exercises, and an examination of performances on film. Through exploring the principles of acting that matter the most to you as an animator, you will learn how to create varied, complex, and memorable characters that will take your work to the next level. |
